Surface Water Monitoring Network Metadata README File ***A guide to understanding the stream flow data exports*** ----------------- If you have questions about specific monitoring sites or the information on this site please contact the Walla Walla Basin Watershed Council: Walla Walla Basin Watershed Council 810 S. Main, Milton-Freewater, OR 97862 541-938-2170 troy.baker@wwbwc.org For additional information about how surface water data are collected please see the WWBWC's Standard Operating Procedures available at www.wwbwc.org ----------------- Explanation of Column Headings (in alphabetical order): Approval = Data approval rating given by WWBWC. 0 - Provisional, data are being processed 1 - Working, data are being processed 2 - In Review, data accuracy level being evaluated 3 - Approved, data have been approved for use Approval Name = Description of approval rating. Date-Time = Date and Time measurements were taken. Discharge (cfs) = Discharge data obtained by running stage data (collected by a pressure transducer) through a site-specific rating equation. These data are corrected for logger drift and other fouling. Please contact us for a complete record of data corrections or to see stage data or rating tables. Discharge values are expressed in "cubic feet per second, cfs". Discharge.AllLoggerData = Same as Discharge (cfs) above Discharge - Manual Measurements (cfs) = Manual flow measurements taken during field visits. Discharge - Number of Data Points = Number of data points used to calculate the subsequent daily min, max, mean, median, range and standard deviation statistics. Grades = Accuracy rating of data. 0 - Provisional 1 - Unverified 11 - Poor 31 - Good 2 - Dry 12 - Pump 40 - Estimated Very Good 3 - Ice 13 - Logger Dry 41 - Very Good 4 - Partial 14 - Flooded 50 - Estimated Excellent 5 - Estimated Number 20 - Estimated Fair 51 - Excellent 6 - Under water 21 - Fair 10 - Estimated Poor 30 - Estimated Good Grade Names = Description of accuracy rating. Interpolation Code = Disregard this column. Not a criteria used by WWBWC for data processing or grading. It is created automatically in the export process but does not carry meaning. Stage (Ft) = Water level measurement collected by pressure transducer and corrected to manual staff gauge readings obtained during field visits. Values are expressed in "feet of water". Water Temperature (C) = Temperature of suface water. Value expressed in degrees celsius. WaterTemp.Field Visits - Water temperature value collected using handheld meter. Value expressed in degrees celsius. WaterTemp.LoggerData - Water temperature value collected using a water temperature sensor deployed instream. Values expressed in degrees celsius. Water Temperature - Number of Data Points = Number of data points used to calculate the subsequent daily mean, median, range and standard deviation statistics.
